When Fiona contacted me to work on the MomActive website, I knew right away this would be a great project. Fiona wanted to complete re-launch and re-brand MomActive. The popular radio show needed a home base, and she wanted to expand the community by adding a forum as well.
We agreed on the Arthemia Premium theme (and had a little difficulty with the thumbnail images, inspiring a post on troubleshooting Arthemia Premium thumbnail generation) and phpBB v3 for the forum.
Original plans included full integration between the phpBB and WordPress using WP-United, however upgrades in versions of WordPress and phpBB since the last stable release of WP-United cause instability and installation issues. Rather than troubleshoot a solution just to find it broken at the next upgrade on either side of the integration bridge, we opted to skin the phpBB forum with a style similar to that on MomActive, giving users a more seamless experience in a stable, secure manner.
The project took a little over a month – good time for a re-branding initative spanning a website with multiple writers and a brand new community. 
I’m simply thrilled with the new look of the MomActive community, and I can’t wait to see how this particular niche in the blogging world expands. With a new suite of excellent writers and a buzzing community, I expect to see great things from MomActive in the near future!
